What is life coaching?

I like this definition from one of my trainers: 

“Coaching is the art of helping people grow without telling them what to do. Coaches are change experts who help us take responsibility and act to maximize our own potential. Coaches aren’t about telling and directing. Instead, the genius of a coach is simply to believe in people. That’s why coaches ask instead of tell: they believe that we can do what we dream, and their faith inspires us to reach higher than we can on our own. Coaches employ superb listening and asking skills to draw answers out of us, so our buy-in is maximized and we assume full responsibility for our own lives.” -Tony Stoltzfus

Who should get life coaching?

Generally, people who want help with any of the following:

  • Life purpose or calling
  • Changing negative habits
  • Bringing clarity to a confusing situation
  • Handling a difficult relationship
  • Healthier pace of life
  • Prioritizing tasks or responsibilities
  • Personal growth and stimulation
  • Increasing leadership capacity
  • Stress, burnout, or discouragement
  • Frustration at work, home, or elsewhere
  • Career change or life transition
  • Accomplishing a specific goal or project
  • Helplessness or fear of failure
  • Spiritual growth
  • Connection with God
  • Pursuing a dream or idea
  • Self-awareness
  • Difficulty hearing from God
  • Increased accountability

How much does coaching cost?

First session is free, following sessions are $75 per session (one hour).

How frequently should we meet?

This depends on the coaching focus and on your needs, and is something we will discuss at the first session. My preference is weekly at the beginning until we gain momentum (at least a few weeks). After that, we can continue weekly or schedule less frequently depending on your needs.
